Styles of Shaolin Kung Fu

(As practiced in the Kwoon of Chun Seh Dau)

The Chun Seh Dau School of Shaolin Kung Fu has many instructors who are practitioners of many styles of both Northern and Southern Shaolin Kung Fu. Some elements and basics of these styles of Shaolin Kung Fu are taught to lay a strong foundation when students join the school. As time goes on students are often taught one or more Shaolin Kung Fu style forms; the actual style form (or forms) is usually dictated by the physical, mental and spiritual abilities of the student. The learning of a Shaolin Kung Fu style form can both develop a student's existing abilities but also help them to develop an area where they may have a weakness or gap in their ability. Listed below are a selection of the styles of Kung Fu taught and practiced within the school.

Dragon, Eagle, Monkey (both Drunken and Seeking Monkey forms) Tiger, Crane, Snake, Mantis, 5 Animals, 10 Animals, Northern Shaolin Long Fist, Wooden Hall Men,Ying Jow Pai Eagle Claw, hard & soft Qigong including Ba Duan Jin, Yang Style Tai Chi and the art of Chin Na.

Although various weapons including Staff, Rope Dart, Three Section Staff and Sword are practised Students are expected to show dedication and evidence of practise outside the Kwoon before advanced weapons skills are taught to them.

In addition to these Kung Fu forms, many forms of meditation are also practised and taught.

All of our instructors are fully certified, licensed and insured by the Great Britain Martial Arts Association. They undergo regular assessments and updates. All of the Sifus are able to teach from novice to Black belt and receive guidance from Grandmaster, who is himself able to teach and grade from novice to Master 7th Rank.
